Stillness II was created through a process that allows movement to resolve into calm. Alcohol inks flow freely across the surface, guided only in part by the artist. Once the alcohol evaporates and the pigments settle, the composition is complete—fixed, unrepeatable, and shaped by natural interaction rather than control.
Layers of blue and turquoise form a steady visual field, offering a sense of depth and openness. These tones are balanced with soft greens that reference water and land, while gold introduces warmth along the horizon—subtle, stabilizing, and grounding rather than decorative. Pale, cloud-like forms emerge naturally as the inks separate and rest.
This painting holds stillness not as absence, but as arrival—a moment where motion has softened and the eye is given space to slow, rest, and recalibrate.
